Red, Black, Yellow & Green
Black, green, brown and yellow, joined by different reds, are the colors which can be achieved with 100% urushi and natural pigments. Even with the development of synthetic pigments in the first half of the 20th century, only a very limited number of colors can be achieved with 100% urushi. This is due to the brownish hue of natural urushi.
